| Suryabatiya Rajbanshi |

Suryabatiya Rajbashi is 31 years old and lives with her three
children and husband in Jhapa, Nepal. All of her children attend the
nearby government school. They have a small house made from mud bricks
and tin. Suryabatiya's husband is a carpenter and the family has
a small furniture factory in which they make items such as sofas,
tables, benches, chairs and windows. In order to grow this small
business they would like to borrow money to purchase additional
machinery. They hope that this will enable them to increase their
income.
With the additional income, Suryabatiya hopes that she
will be able to build a better house and send her children to a good
secondary school so that they can get a decent education and escape
poverty.
