Thousands of people from indigenous community from villages around Jhapa district gathered around Birtamode Muktichowk. The crowds of people adorned with their cultural outfits and carrying playcards, banners including women, children, disabled, handicapped, peoples of old age more than forty thousand in number headed towards Eastern Bus Stand the venue of the program. The president of NEFIN Mr. Rajkumar Lekhi inagurated the celebration program by playing Chyabrung (a musical instrument of Indeginious people living in mountain region of Nepal as a symbol of Terai and Mountain indigenous peoples are united in Nepal). The Month of Sravan and the Shravan Somvar Legend
Shravan is the fifth month of Hindu calendar begining from Chaitra. This month is considered highly auspicious for praying to Lord Shiva. It is believed that worshiping Lord Shiva during Sawan is considered more powerful than worshiping during normal days. Many Hindus observe fasts and perform Pujas during the month, especially on Monday. The fasts done on Monday are known as Shravan Somwar Vrat. It is believed that by observing Sravan Somvar Vrat all desires gets fulfilled. It is believed that if unmarried women keep fast on Mondays of the month they would get a good husband. Apart from Monday’s women keep fasts on Tuesdays and Fridays of the month too. On Tuesdays newly

मोरङको कटहरी ५ हल्दीबारीका राजकुमार यतिबेला दुःखी छन् । उतिबेला मधेस मुक्तिका लागि भन्दै हातमा मसाल बोकेर निस्केको छोरोको छातीमा लागेको गोलीले अहिले पनि उनको पोली रहेको छ । 'मधेसी नेताले हाम्रा घाउमा मलम लगाउलान् भन्ने आशा थियो, तर उनीहरूले पनि हाम्रा भावनामा खेलवाड गरे,' उनले भने ।
