The past 2 weeks have been filled with travel. I have crossed a large part of the Nepal visiting a number of districts where our Good Return clients are situated – from the Terai plains which are made up of flat farmlands to the mountainous Ilam district. It required two days alone to travel up to the west of Nepal on a bus, an experience that I will not forget any time soon!The two main methods of transportation so far have been motorbike and local bus. At times conditions have been tough, but I’ve been spurred on by the client feedback that I’m receiving.Shirbati Rajbansi lives in a small village in the eastern part of Nepal. At the end of our meeting I asked her if she had any comments or suggestions. She said, “The loan has improved my family’s life, if I did not have access to this loan I would have to go to money lenders who only give small loans at extremely high interest.”

18th World Indigenous Day Celebration In Jhapa Nepal

    Thousands of people from indigenous community from villages around Jhapa district gathered around Birtamode Muktichowk. The crowds of people adorned with their cultural outfits and carrying playcards, banners including women, children, disabled, handicapped, peoples of old age more than forty thousand in number headed towards Eastern Bus Stand the venue of the program. The president of NEFIN Mr. Rajkumar Lekhi inagurated the celebration program by playing Chyabrung (a musical instrument of Indeginious people living in mountain region of Nepal as a symbol of Terai and Mountain indigenous peoples are united in Nepal). Maximum numbers of Rajbanshi youths were in their cultural outfits Dhuti and Gamcha (Dhuti- a white cloths used by Rajbanshi males around the waist, Gamcha- a towel specially worn by Rajbanshi

आफ्नै पोसाकमा चिरिच्याट्ट

पहिलो पटक कलेजी रंगको फनेक र चौबन्दी लगाएर कम्मरमा पटुकी कस्न झापा दमक १० की कल्पना भुजेललाइ सकस नै पर्यो । सोमबार आफ्नै जातिको पोसाक लागाउँदा परेको यो अफ्ठयारो सम्झदैं उनले भनिन, यसअघि कहिल्यै लगाएकी थिइँन त्यहि भएर अलि बढी समय लाग्यो ।

कोरीबाटी चिटिक्क परेर दमकमा भएको कार्यक्रममा आएका उनीजस्ता अन्य भुजेल युवतीले पनि आफ्नै पोसाक लगाएका थिए । जातिय पहिचान झल्कने पोसाक लगाउन भरखरैबाट शुरु गरेका उनीहरुले यस्लाई अभियानकै रुपमा अघि बढाएका छन् । दमक ४ डाकिनीकी सरस्वती धिमाल पनि रातोपेटी भरेको कालो पेटानीमा रमि्रएकी थिइन् । रातो चोलो र कालो पेटानीमा चिटिक्क देखिएकी उनी विवाह मेला र
